Shift: 7-on/7-off schedule with daytime rounds and home call coverage after rounds
Position Details:
Patient Population: Neonatal patients requiring Level III NICU care
Setting: 34-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at a leading women's and children's hospital
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive neonatal care in a Level III NICU
- Conduct daily neonatal rounds and manage patient care plans
- Collaborate with Neonatologists and Neonatal Nurse Practitioners
- Oversee and support 24/7 in-house NNP coverage
- Participate in home call coverage following daily rounds
- Manage newborn nursery rounds
- Support evidence-based care and quality improvement initiatives
- Work closely with multidisciplinary clinical teams
Required Procedures:
- Neonatal critical care management
- NICU patient care and rounding
- Newborn nursery management
- Advanced neonatal stabilization and treatment
Support Staff: Team of 2 Neonatologists, 4 Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, and 24/7 in-house NNP coverage
Days Per Month: 7-on/7-off rotation
On-Call/Weekends: Home call after daily rounds during assigned week; weekend coverage included within rotation
Submission Requirements:
- Board Certified in Pediatrics
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neonatology
- Louisiana Medical License or willingness to obtain
- Most recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days)
- DEA required prior to start date
- Clean malpractice and license history highly preferred
- Must specify visa sponsorship requirements (J1/H1B); visa candidates not accepted
