Job description

Our client, a leading healthcare provider dedicated to comprehensive urological care, is hiring a Nurse Practitioner, Urology. The position involves providing expert urological assessments, developing treatment plans, and managing patient care in a fast-paced environment, including remote call coverage during evenings and weekends. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments, including medical history, physical exams, and diagnostics related to urological conditions such as urinary tract infections, prostate issues, kidney stones, and bladder disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment strategies in collaboration with supervising urologists.
  • Prescribe medications, perform minor procedures, and manage follow-up care.
  • Educate patients on urological health, preventive measures, and treatment options.
  • Provide remote on-call coverage outside regular hours, responding promptly to urgent patient needs.
  • Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the healthcare team, ensuring accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
  • Support patients through pre- and post-operative care and promote adherence to treatment plans.
  • Adhere to all clinical protocols, legal, and privacy standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program; NYS licensed.
  • 1 to 5 years of related clinical experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least one year experience in urology as an NP or as an RN
  • Prior experience managing call coverage and urgent care situations preferred.
  • BLS/ACLS certification.
  • Excellent assessment, diagnostic, and procedural skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for managing complex patient interactions.
  • Ability to work independently and make critical decisions quickly.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
