We are seeking an experienced, community-investedGeneral Surgeon (BC/BE)to join a thriving practice in Texas. This full-time position is designed for a surgeon who values professional autonomy and is comfortable managing a "broad scope" clinical workload, including gallbladders, hernias, EGDs, colonoscopies, and PEGS. The role offers a balanced weekly schedule typically3 days of clinic and 2 days of blocked OR time supported by an established referral base and a collaborative call rotation (expected1:3, with potential for 1:2 for additional pay). Residency within a minute radius is required to support the hospital s Level IV Trauma needs, with many physicians choosing to live in the historic ranching community near the beautiful Texas coast.

96-bed, Level IV Trauma facility that serves as a vital healthcare anchor for the community. Known for its ranching heritage. The hospital provides a supportive, "small city" environment combined with high-quality medical facilities.
Surgical Facilities:The hospital features 3 Operating Rooms (non-hybrid) and a dedicated clinic building conveniently located on the hospital campus.
Volume & Stats:With FY25 projections of over600 surgeries,21,500 ED visits, and1,700 discharges, the facility maintains a steady surgical volume.
Clinical Environment:
Trauma Protocol:Operates as a "stabilize and transfer" center; any major trauma is stabilized in the ED and sent to Corpus Christi, while the majority of acute care cases are managed by on-site Hospitalists.
Specialty Support:Surgeons are supported by Hospitalists, Tele-Pulmonology, and Tele-Critical Care.
Maternal Health:While the surgeon provides general consults, a dedicated OB team is on-call for specialized surgical emergencies like complex C-sections.
Dialysis:Home to the area's only inpatient dialysis program, adding to the medical complexity and variety of the patient base.

Qualifications:
- MD or DO with ACGME-accredited General Surgery residency
