Production Worker Job Summary The Production Worker is responsible for packaging, handling, and preparing finished products for shipment while supporting efficient manufacturing operations. This role involves operating equipment, maintaining a safe and organized work environment, and assisting other departments as needed in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Package and properly label finished products according to established standards Stack empty pallets in the automatic pallet distributor Apply plastic covers to pallets Monitor the automatic shrink-wrap oven and make adjustments as needed Manually shrink-wrap pallet covers using a propane torch when required Organize and maintain the finished product storage area Process scrap, repair, and quality control rolls Splice short product rolls as necessary Dispose of scrap and recyclable materials in designated areas Place product rolls into boxes and stack boxes on pallets when required Manually palletize rolls as needed Load the core machine with raw cores, flap paper, and glue Assist other departments as needed to support production operations Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Transport pallets to designated locations within the storage yard Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Ability to operate a forklift Basic computer literacy Working Conditions and Physical Demands Position requires working 12-hour rotating shifts (36- and 48-hour weeks), including weekends Shift assignment may be days or nights Requires prolonged standing, lifting up to 100 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, and operating manufacturing equipment Work environment includes high noise levels, temperature fluctuations, dust, and odors
