Internal Medicine Physician

Coverage Needed

• Start Date: 03/16/2026
• End Date: 09/19/2026
• Schedule: 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week

Clinical Details

• Provide professional medical services in a correctional facility
• Administer examinations, diagnose medical issues, prescribe medications, and provide treatment and follow-up care
• Participate in treatment team meetings and direct unit treatment operations
• Perform minor and occasional major surgeries
• Hold clinics for nursing specialists
• Maintain relationships with facility staff, nursing staff, contract providers, and outside agencies
• Utilize established policies and procedures, exercising independent judgment
• Monitor inpatient hospitalizations and facilitate early release when appropriate
• Prepare and maintain medical records and reports
• Support NCCHC/ACA/JCAHO accreditation efforts
• Accept on-call status

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of medicine
• Must be licensed to practice medicine in the state of employment
• Valid driver's license
• US Citizenship required for ICE clearance
• Board eligibility required for privileges
• English proficiency: Read, Write, Speak
• Must live outside of a 70 mile radius from site
