    Job Details
  • Progressive Cardiac Care unit with 28 beds.
  • Patient population includes Medical, Cardiac, Pre/Post Cardiovascular Surgery, Arrhythmia, Heart Failure, and stroke overflow.
  • Patient ratio is 1:4-5.
    Job Requirements
  • Must have current nursing license with Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start.
  • Completion of FACIS Questionnaire if any disciplinary actions exist.
  • Must pass Ascension Pharmacology Exam with minimum 80% score, updated every 3 years.
  • Must pass Ascension Medical Surgical Exam with minimum 80% score, updated every 3 years.
  • Completion of Ascension Color Vision test prior to start and updated every 3 years.
  • Completion of Ascension Core Competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics with minimum 80% score, updated every 3 years.
  • Completion of Ascension EKG Exam with minimum 80% score, updated every 3 years.
  • Completion of Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation.
  • Completion of Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding onsite.
  • Must provide a forward facing badge photo with white or blue background.
  • Documented proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted.
  • Fit Test required, preferred prior to start, updated annually.
  • Documentation of Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination.
  • Health Statement or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
  • Driver's License or State ID must be current and match address on file.
  • 2 Step PPD or IGRA testing required with TB Questionnaire updated annually.
  • Documented proof of Varicella immunity or vaccination; no declinations accepted.
  • Valid Tdap vaccination within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
  • Resume or professional profile required.
  • At least two professional references required prior to first assignment.
  • Completion of criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others within 90 days of first assignment.
  • Completion of EPLS within 90 days of start and rerun if break in service >90 days.
  • Completion of Ascension Skills Checklist within one year of start and updated annually.
  • 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
  • Verification of education relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start.
  • Confirmation of assignment documentation upon initial assignment and each extension.
  • Third-party employment verification for past seven years, updated annually.
    Schedule Information
  • Night shift from 18:45 to 07:15.
    Unit Specific Information
  • Progressive Cardiac Care Unit (PCU) with focus on cardiac and related patient populations.
  • Patient ratio 1:4-5.
  • Unit specific checklist optional for onboarding, to be uploaded by unit leader within a week.
    Additional Details
  • Ascension Exit Survey to be completed within 72 hours after assignment completion.
  • Influenza vaccine is optional; exemptions accepted but mask required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31).
  • Positive PPD requires negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire.
  • Hiring Manager Evaluation is optional post-assignment.
  • Legal documentation of name change is optional.
