Mazza Recycling is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our overnight team, maintaining and repairing our diverse fleet of Class A and Class B trucks, heavy equipment, and recycling machinery. Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain Class A and Class B trucks, diesel fleet vehicles, heavy equipment, and recycling equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, DOT-related inspections, brake work, fluid services, safety repairs, and post-repair checks.
  • Troubleshoot diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, DEF/emissions systems, and related components.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools, scan software, schematics, manuals, and work orders to efficiently identify and resolve issues.
  • Conduct welding, fabrication, road calls, equipment inspections, and maintain accurate repair documentation as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety, lockout/tagout, environmental, and maintenance procedures to ensure a safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old and legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy-Duty Mechanic, Fleet Mechanic, Truck Mechanic, Equipment Mechanic, or Maintenance Technician preferred.
  • Strongly preferred: Experience with Class A and Class B vehicle repair.
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, air brakes, hydraulics, electrical diagnostics, emissions systems, preventive maintenance, and heavy equipment repair.
  • Welding, fabrication, CDL Class A/B, ASE certifications, DOT inspection experience, EPA 609, or manufacturer training is a plus.
  • Ability to work overnight shifts, overtime, weekends, outdoors, and in a shop or industrial environment as needed.
  • Reliable, safety-focused, physically able to perform demanding work, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
