The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing heavy machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in hydraulic systems, engine overhauls, and preventive maintenance. Working both independently and in team settings, the mechanic plays a crucial role in supporting operational efficiency with occasional to frequent travel and primarily day shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and safety checks
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic issues
  • Carry out repairs and engine overhauls on heavy machinery
  • Replace parts and ensure proper functionality of all systems
  • Maintain accurate service records and work logs
  • Adhere to safety compliance standards during all maintenance tasks
  • Collaborate with team members and work independently as needed
  • Manage time effectively to complete tasks within scheduled day shifts

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance
