Urgent Care NP/PA Needed Pennsylvania

Locum Tenens November 2026 Start

WPA Medicine Staffing is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a locum tenens Urgent Care opportunity beginning November 2, 2026. This assignment offers full-time coverage in a collaborative urgent care network while providing the autonomy to practice independently across multiple clinic locations.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine advanced practice provider who is comfortable practicing independently while caring for patients of all ages.

Providers will evaluate and treat common urgent care conditions including upper respiratory illnesses, cold and flu symptoms, rashes, abrasions, sprains, minor burns, and other low-acuity illnesses and injuries. Responsibilities include wound care, incision and drainage procedures, splinting, and management of minor orthopedic injuries. Higher-acuity patients are referred to the local emergency department.

The clinics are staffed with Medical Assistants and Radiologic Technologists, with physician support available remotely when needed. Providers should be comfortable working independently and collaborating with remote physician support as appropriate.

Requirements
  • Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Active Pennsylvania License
  • Pennsylvania DEA
  • ACLS, BLS, and PALS Certifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of Urgent Care experience or 1 year of Emergency Medicine experience
  • Comfortable treating patients 6 months of age and older
  • Experience with:
    • Suturing and wound care
    • Incision and drainage (I&D)
    • Splinting and minor orthopedic procedures
    • Ordering and interpreting X-rays and EKGs
    • Blood draws and IV placement
    • Independent practice
  • Must reside within a 2 3 hour driving radius of the practice locations
  • IMLC candidates cannot be considered
Practice Environment
  • Epic EMR
  • Average patient volume of 3 4 patients per hour
  • Medical Assistant and Radiologic Technologist support onsite
  • One to three providers scheduled daily
  • Remote physician support available for clinical escalation when needed
  • Float coverage between three clinic locations within approximately 30 miles
