Corporate Vice President, Enterprise Quality Engineering

Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week

Role Overview

The Corporate Vice President (CVP), Enterprise Quality Engineering (QE) is a senior technology leader responsible for defining, governing, and scaling modern quality engineering capabilities across New York Life's enterprise technology landscape. This role ensures that quality, stability, and resilience are engineered into mission-critical platforms and applications that support agents, advisors, and business partners, while enabling predictable delivery in a highly regulated environment. Operating as a strategic partner to Product, Engineering, Architecture, Release Management, and Business Leadership, this role leads New York Life's evolution from reactive testing to proactive, insight-driven quality engineeringbalancing speed, innovation, and risk discipline.

What You'll Do

  • Define and execute an enterprise-wide Quality Engineering strategy aligned to New York Life's technology vision, business priorities, and regulatory obligations.
  • Establish enterprise standards, operating models, and governance for test strategy, automation, environments, defect management, and quality metrics.
  • Embed a shift-left, quality-by-design mindset across Agile and DevSecOps delivery models.
  • Partner with Value Stream, Product, and Engineering leaders to improve release stability, delivery confidence, and predictability.
  • Drive an automation-first approach across UI, API, integration, performance and security testing integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proactively identify systemic quality risks, recurring defect patterns, and promote SLA-based root-cause remediation.
  • Define, track, and communicate enterprise quality KPIs, providing executives with actionable insights on quality health and risk exposure.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing enterprise Quality Engineering organization, including leaders, managers, and practitioners.
  • Partner with Value Stream leaders, Release Management, Change Management and Production Support to ensure adherence to enterprise and regulatory standards.

What You'll Bring

  • 12+ years of experience in technology delivery, quality engineering, or software engineering, with significant senior leadership experience.
  • 8+ years of proven success leading enterprise-scale quality engineering across complex, regulated environments (financial services or insurance preferred).
  • Deep expertise in modern quality engineering, automation frameworks, CI/CD, and distributed or cloud-native systems.
  • Strong business and risk acumen, with the ability to balance speed, quality, and regulatory discipline.
  • Exceptional communication and influence skills, capable of engaging executive audiences and leading without direct authority.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range: $147,500-$211,000

Overtime eligible: Exempt

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes

Sales bonus eligible: No

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
