Neonatology Physician

Job Title: Locum Physician Neonatology

Location: Richmond, Virginia

Opportunity Details:
We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Neonatologist for a locum tenens assignment in a Level III NICU at a well-established facility in Richmond, VA. This is a time-sensitive need with shifts beginning in late July 2025. Providers with a clean file and active VA license/DEA are encouraged to apply immediately for expedited credentialing.

Facility Highlights:

• NICU Level: III

• NICU Bed Size: 40 beds

• Average Daily Census: NICU 4.3; NBN 24.2

• Annual Deliveries: 4,256 (2024)

Clinical Duties Include:

• High-frequency ventilation (HFOV and HFJV)

• Inhaled nitric oxide administration

• Managing pediatric surgical patients

• Therapeutic hypothermia with aEEG

• Coordination with pediatricians covering well babies

Schedule:

• 24/7 in-house model

• Day Shift: 7:30 AM 5:00 PM (2 physicians)

• Night Shift: 5:00 PM 7:30 AM (1 physician, with 30-min overlap for sign-out)

• No on-call coverage required

Support & Back-Up:

• On-site Pediatric Surgery and Cardiology

• No ECMO or cardiac surgery (except PDA ligations)

• Support from VCU subspecialists

EMR: PermiEHR and Meditech

Credentialing Requirements:

• VA License and DEA Required at Submission

• Must Have a Clean Malpractice and Background History

Required Certifications:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatology

• PALS, NRP, and ACLS Required
