Job description

Position Title: SMD Development Engineer
General Description
  • Leading In-house & out-sourced tool and component development for new program
  • Ensuring all suppliers meet SL and Customer's key milestones
  • Champion of Pre-production part build and delivery
  • Coordinate all engineering and launch related Issues

Responsibilities
  • Provide essential information and requirements regarding the PCB to the supplier
  • Review PCB designs and minimize potential design and manufacturing quality issues
  • Lead seamless communication with the manufacturing MDT by understanding the software development process and clearly grasping the system engineer's design intent
  • Lead DFM activities
  • Ensuring for all supplier to meet dimensional requirement on time and to set up a stable process to satisfy KPC or SCCAF
  • Review PCB development progress, schedules, and issues through regular meetings with all suppliers
  • Supporting internal and external engineering changes on new program
  • Responsible for ensuring that supplier quality problems of developing components are resolved in a timely and effective manner without reoccurrence.
  • Coordination of component supply during the development phase and pre-coordination of requirements prior to Start of Production (SOP)
  • Participating in Customer & Internal PDT Meetings
  • Support Gate Reviews & internal/customer
  • Support for sourcing new components (including electronic components)
  • Support for profitability improvement activities

Job Requirements

Work Experience

  • At least three years of experience as Electronics SDE/SQE or Electronics Development engineer in automotive manufacturing environment
  • Or 3+ years Electronics Launch Management

    Education

    • Bachelor' s degree in Electrical/Electronical Engineering or related engineering field
    • Electrical/Electronical or Mechanical Engineering experience is a plus

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Working knowledge of key quality core tools(APQP, FMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, etc.)
    • Must be able to work efficiently and effectively with all departments
    • Understanding PCB Design and SMD Component Characteristics
    • Ability to interpret circuit diagrams and technical drawings (GERBER, CAD, etc.)
    • Knowledge of SMT manufacturing process flows and quality control techniques
    • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
