  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $8,160-$8,750

Job Requirements
  • Board certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, or board certification in General Psychiatry with a completed Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship
  • At least 1 year of psychiatry experience required
  • Strong foundation in psychiatric assessment, diagnoses, treatment planning, and evidence-based treatment modalities
  • Experience with psychopharmacology and psychotherapy approaches
  • Experience managing psychiatric medications for children and adolescents
  • Ability to work effectively with adolescents, parents/guardians, and multidisciplinary care teams
  • Comfort managing challenging behaviors and using de-escalation techniques in a behavioral health setting
  • Understanding of adolescent development, family systems, legal frameworks, educational provisions, and safeguarding protocols
  • Active California DEA with Schedule II/II-N authority required
  • BLS certification required
  • All certifications must be AHA approved
Responsibilities
  • Provide psychiatric coverage for an adolescent patient population in a locum tenens setting
  • Conduct weekday rounding, patient evaluations, and treatment planning
  • Provide weekend rounding and on-call psychiatric support as scheduled
  • Place admission orders for patients arriving during night call
  • Collaborate with nurses, therapists, social workers, and other behavioral health team members to support high-quality patient care
  • Develop individualized, comprehensive treatment plans for adolescent patients
  • Support families and guardians through clear communication and care coordination
  • Help lead multidisciplinary discussions and guide patient care decisions
  • Use therapeutic interventions and de-escalation strategies when needed
