Join a dynamic trauma surgery team at a Level II Trauma Center in Lima, OH covering a full-time PA on medical leave. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced PAs with a trauma surgery background looking for consistent inpatient responsibilities without the pressure of autonomous practice.
Location: Lima, OH
Assignment Length: 12 weeks or possibility to extend till the end of the year!
Schedule: Inpatient rounding, consults, ED response, discharges
Trauma Level: Level II (Adult)
️ Supervision: Trauma Attending Surgeon assigned to each 24-hour shift (on-call, reachable within 15 mins)
Key Responsibilities Respond to ED Trauma Alerts
Perform FAST exams
Conduct surgical consults & ER admissions
Assist with house codes and rapid response team
Facilitate discharges and complete handoffs
Minor procedures including suturing lacerations
General surgery coverage 5p 7a weekdays and 24h on weekends
EMR: Epic
Patient Volume: 6 12 per day
Collaborative Environment: You ll work under direct supervision and support of a dedicated trauma attending
Requirements:
NCCPA Board Certified Required
Active OH License & DEA Required
BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS Required
Trauma Surgery Experience Required; no new grads accepted
