Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Electrophysiologist, you will join The Heart Institute of East Texas (HIET), a leading practice affiliated with St. Luke's Health-Memorial in Lufkin, Texas. This is an exceptional opportunity to become part of a highly recognized team, providing advanced cardiovascular care and all EP procedures in a practice that has consistently received the American College of Cardiology's Heartcare Center of Excellence designation.
In this role, you will deliver comprehensive electrophysiology services, leveraging cutting-edge technology in dedicated EP labs, engaging in all EP procedures including LAAO (Watchman/Amulet) and a PFA program for A-fib ablations. You will manage a predictable cardiology call schedule with significant time off, collaborating within an established practice that offers an opportunity to be on Baylor College of Medicine Faculty.

In this role, you will deliver comprehensive electrophysiology services, leveraging cutting-edge technology in dedicated EP labs, engaging in all EP procedures including LAAO (Watchman/Amulet) and a PFA program for A-fib ablations. Every day you will:
- Perform all Electrophysiology procedures capable, including LAAO (Watchman/Amulet) and a PFA program for A-fib ablations with both Boston/Abbott systems.
- Utilize cutting-edge technology in our 2 dedicated EP labs, equipped with EnSite X EP System X, Carto 3 V7, and Carto Prime mapping systems.
- Collaborate with a large, experienced team of 13 cardiologists (7 Interventional, 4 Invasive/General, 1 EP) and our CV Surgeon.
- Participate in a manageable 1:7 cardiology call schedule with only 1 major holiday per year.
- Serve a broad 12-county region of Deep East Texas with a population of 350,000, across 10 clinic locations and privileges at 4 hospitals.
- Contribute to a practice recognized with the ACC Heartcare Center of Excellence every year since 2018, and multiple other ACC accreditations.
- Engage in teaching and committee opportunities, with the potential to be part of Baylor College of Medicine Faculty.

Required:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or eligibility in Electrophysiology (following Cardiology board certification).
- Active or eligible license in the state of Texas.
- Strong clinical and procedural expertise across the full spectrum of electrophysiology, including complex ablations, device implantation, and lead extractions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, referring physicians, and a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a high-volume, sub-specialized cardiology practice, maintaining focus on clinical excellence and patient safety.
- Commitment to advancing cardiovascular care through innovation, quality improvement, and adherence to ACC accreditation standards.

- In 2023, Heart Institute of East Texas, recognized by ACC as Partners in care with St. Luke's Health Memorial Lufkin for heart failure accreditation with outpatient services The Heart Institute of East Texas is one of the only two outpatient clinics in Texas and the 11th in the nation to receive this Partner in Care Heart Failure Accreditation.
- The Physicians have also received the Texas Forest Country "Small Business of the Year" award from Governor Abbott in 2017 and the Lufkin Chamber of Commerce "Small Business of the Year" award in 2017.
