Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with a background in Medical Dermatology to join a growing patient-centered dermatology practice in North Carolina.

This opportunity is ideal for a provider who values continuity of care, strong patient relationships, and delivering high-quality dermatologic services within a collaborative clinical environment. The role focuses exclusively on medical dermatology and offers the chance to work alongside experienced providers while serving a diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive dermatologic evaluations, including full-body skin examinations and patient histories

  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of dermatologic conditions including:

    • Acne

    • Eczema

    • Psoriasis

    • Rosacea

    • Dermatitis

    • Fungal infections

    • Rashes and other chronic skin conditions

  • Identify and treat precancerous and cancerous lesions including:

    • Actinic Keratosis (AK)

    • Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC)

    • Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC)

    • Melanoma

  • Perform dermatologic procedures such as:

    • Shave biopsies

    • Punch biopsies

    • Excisional biopsies

    • Cryotherapy

    • Lesion removal

    • Wound care and post-procedure management

  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians

  • Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with clinical guidelines and licensure

  • Educate patients on skin health, treatment plans, and preventive care

  • Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation

  • Adhere to HIPAA, regulatory, and clinical standards

  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities

Qualifications Required
  • Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program

  • Current North Carolina NP or PA license

  • National certification:

    • AANP or ANCC for NPs

    • NCCPA for PAs

  • Minimum 1 year of dermatology experience, preferably in medical dermatology

  • Strong clinical assessment and procedural skills

  • Excellent communication and patient education abilities

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical setting

Preferred
  • Dermatology certification (DCNP or equivalent) or willingness to pursue certification

  • Experience with dermatologic procedures including biopsies and cryotherapy

  • Familiarity with dermatoscopy and EMR systems

  • Passion for patient-centered care and long-term patient relationships
