Job description

We are currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner specializing in General Medicine for a locum tenens position near Three Rivers, California. This is an excellent opportunity to work with veterans and provide Compensation & Pension exams, as well as Separation Health Assessments, in a supportive and structured environment. The role is flexible and offers a rewarding way to contribute to the well-being of veterans.Job Details:
  • Position Type: Locum Tenens, PRN (as needed basis)
  • Location: Near Three Rivers, California
  • Shift:
    • PRN, as needed
    • Half days (4-hour shifts) or full days (8-hour shifts) available
    • No weekend or on-call requirementsKey Responsibilities:
      • Perform non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams, as well as Separation Health Assessments for veterans.
      • Primarily interview-based exams with some physical assessments, such as range of motion testing and muscle strength evaluations.
      • Utilize a goniometer for musculoskeletal evaluations.
      • Conduct METs testing and evaluate respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.
      • Complete reports and submit required documentation within 48 hours post-exam via an online portal.
      • Follow up with additional administrative work as needed (e.g., addendums, medical opinions, and diagnostics).Qualifications:
        • License: Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in California.
        • Certification: AANP certification required.
        • Experience in general medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, or orthopedic surgery preferred.
        • Proficiency in performing METs testing and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and musculoskeletal conditions.
        • Must own a laptop (no Apple/Mac products) for accessing the online portal.
        • Must be willing to obtain DMA certification (can earn CME credits through the process).Additional Perks:
