Providers should be comfortable performing a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic vascular and non-vascular interventional procedures, with the opportunity to work in a high-volume environment averaging cases per day. Neuro stroke thrombectomy experience is welcomed but not required. Assignment Details
Location: Bismarck, North Dakota

Coverage Need: Ongoing
Schedule:
- Day shift: 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
- Evening call: 4:00 PM 8:00 AM
- Weekend call: 24-hour coverage
- Daily rate includes weekday clinic coverage and overnight call
Initial Coverage Dates
- Orientation: August 12, 2026 (8:00 AM 3:00 PM)
- Coverage: August 13, 2026 (8:00 AM) August 18, 2026 (8:00 AM)
Clinical Responsibilities
Providers will perform a full spectrum of Interventional Radiology procedures, including but not limited to:
Vascular Procedures
- Diagnostic angiography (arterial and venous)
- Venous and arterial angioplasty
- Venous and arterial stenting
- Thrombolytic therapy
- Embolization procedures
General Interventional Procedures
- PICC lines and vascular access devices
- Central venous catheter placement
- Port-a-cath insertions
- IVC filter placement and retrieval
- TIPS procedures
- Abscess and fluid drainage procedures
- Thoracentesis
- Paracentesis
- Percutaneous needle biopsies (body and bone)
- Nephrostomy tube placement
- Ureteral stent placement
- Biliary interventions
- Percutaneous transhepatic cholangiograms
- Gastrostomy tube placement
- Chest tube insertions
- Myelography
- Blood patches
- Joint and epidural injections
- Vertebroplasty
- Arthrograms
- Uterine artery embolization
- Y-90 radioembolization and TACE procedures
- Cryoablation
- Renal fistulograms
Preferred Experience
- Neurointerventional stroke thrombectomy procedures
Average Daily Volume: Approximately procedures per day
Diagnostic Reads: Not required between IR cases.
Qualifications Required
- Board Certified in Interventional Radiology
- Completion of IR residency or fellowship training
- Active BLS and ACLS certifications
- Experience performing all required IR procedures listed above
- Availability confirmed at time of presentation
- Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation
Licensure
- Active North Dakota medical license strongly preferred
- Providers without an active ND license must possess IMLC eligibility
Call Expectations Weekday Call
- Evening call coverage from 4:00 PM 8:00 AM
- Average callback: approximately 2.5 hours
Weekend Call
- 24-hour call coverage
- Average callback: approximately 1.3 hours
- Emergency cases only in most circumstances
