Job Summary: Under the supervision of a nurse leader, the RN-ER independently prescribes, delegates, and coordinates nursing care for acutely ill patients. The role involves performing the nursing process through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of safe, therapeutic care. The RN-ER adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, ANA Code of Ethics, and California Nurse Practice Act.
Required Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience
- Valid and unrestricted State of California Registered Nurse License (RN License)
- NIHSS certification
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Preferred Qualifications:- Graduation from an accredited registered nursing program with a bachelor's or associate degree
Additional Information:- Knowledge of advanced theory, techniques, and practices of nursing
- Familiarity with medical terminology, instruments, and equipment
- Understanding of the uses and effects of medicines and narcotics
- Adherence to RN scope of practice as defined by BRN licensure
- Compliance with ANA Code of Ethics, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, and Kern Medical Center Professional Practice Model
