Job Details
- Position: Psychiatry Physician, Locum Tenens
- Specialty: Adult Inpatient Psychiatry / Behavioral Health
- Setting: Inpatient acute psychiatric unit
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $5,880-$6,960
- Patient Volume: Approximately 12-14 patient encounters per day
- Openings: Multiple psychiatry physician positions available
- Location: Holyoke, MA, with convenient access to outdoor recreation, cultural attractions, and the natural beauty of western Massachusetts
Job Requirements
- Board certified physician required
- Minimum of 1 year of psychiatry experience required
- Active Massachusetts physician license or eligibility to practice in Massachusetts
- Current BLS certification required
- Experience in inpatient adult psychiatry strongly preferred
- Comfort working in acute psychiatric settings and collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Strong familiarity with involuntary commitments, seclusion therapy, and restraint application
- Experience with pharmacotherapy and group therapy
Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric care for adult patients in an acute inpatient behavioral health setting
- Support coverage for an opening forensic adult unit and adult acute unit
- Complete daily patient evaluations, follow-up care, and treatment planning
- Participate in daily treatment meetings with the care team
- Work closely with RNs, behavioral health techs, therapists, and administration to coordinate care
- Assess and treat conditions including anxiety disorders, affective disorders, ADD/ADHD, personality disorders, developmental disorders, and psychotic disorders
- Deliver patient-centered psychiatric care with a focus on safety, stability, and recovery
