    Job Details
  • Under the direction of a Radiologist, specializes in the performance of procedures of an invasive nature to aid in the evaluation of pathological entities as prescribed by a physician.
  • Explains examination procedure to patients and prepares patient for the examination.
  • Obtains additional information about the patient's medical history as necessary.
  • Prepares prescribed contrast media, medications, and IV solutions for administration to patients.
  • Reviews clinical data on requisition, analyzes anatomical structure of patient, sets up equipment and assists Radiologist in performing complex diagnostic invasive procedures.
  • Prepares and sets up sterile equipment, physiological monitors, pressure injectors, and imaging equipment required for the procedure.
  • Ensures adequate supplies such as needles, catheters, etc. are on hand and properly stored.
  • Replenishes supplies as appropriate.
  • Actively assesses the patient condition before, during, and following all procedures.
  • Manually controls the equipment to obtain the proper diagnostic information for the area of the body being studied.
  • May assist with the training of new personnel and/or students assigned to the division.
  • Performs all imaging procedures demonstrating principles of radiation protection including shielding, equipment settings to reduce dose, and ALARA techniques.
  • Resolves image exceptions and ensures high quality image delivery into PACS; views images and confirms image/series counts.
  • Completes all study indexing in RIS including study begin, study end, and completion of study.
  • Reviews and confirms clinical protocols with Radiologist before performing study.
  • Demonstrates Team Member Standards of Excellence including AIDET, open communication, timely response, positive attitude, innovation, and respect for diversity.
  • Performs Quality Assurance procedures as appropriate.
  • Performs all documentation in the medical record and radiology information system to support clinical and billing functions.
  • Utilizes independent judgment in determining appropriate imaging techniques, patient positioning, and safety practices.
    Job Requirements
  • Must maintain Healthcare Provider certification (BLS).
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) with advanced registry in one of the following: Cardiac-Interventional Radiography (CI), Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI), or Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography (CV).
  • Candidate must have IR vascular experience.
  • Candidate must have Epic experience.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
  • Must maintain required hours of continued medical education.
    Schedule Information
  • Shift: 8am - 4pm; Monday - Friday with a call schedule.
  • Hours per day: 8
  • Hours per week: 40
