Associate Program Director, Internal Medicine Residency Program - Focus on Ambulatory Education & Outpatient Training

LifeBridge Health, a $2B+ integrated healthcare system serving more than one million patients annually throughout Maryland, seeks a Board-Certified Internal Medicine Physician or Medicine Subspecialist to join our academic faculty as an Associate Program Director (APD) within our Internal Medicine Residency Program.

While this is a full-time position, the APD portion of the role can be up to a 0.5 FTE, with the remaining time allocated to clinical practice in the ambulatory setting. The APD time allocation is negotiable depending on specialty and need.

Open to Internal Medicine (outpatient), Pulmonology, Endocrinology and Gastroenterology candidates. This is an ambulatory position that would allow you to see internal medicine patients in our outpatient clinics as well as a panel of your own specialty patients, if applicable.

This leadership position combines graduate medical education, residency program administration, ambulatory curriculum development, faculty mentorship, and outpatient clinical practice, and inpatient per subspecialty service line The Associate Program Director will partner closely with the Program Director to advance resident education, ambulatory training experiences, support ACGME accreditation standards, and foster excellence in outpatient internal medicine.

Based at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, a regional medical campus of George Washington School of Medicine and Health Sciences, this position offers the opportunity to shape the next generation of Internal Medicine physicians while maintaining an active outpatient practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program with a focus on ambulatory education and resident development.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for clinics, ambulatory block rotations, outpatient subspecialty experiences, and ambulatory curriculum.
  • Collaborate with Program Leadership to ensure compliance with ACGME requirements and residency program goals.
  • Participate in resident recruitment, mentorship, evaluation, coaching, and academic advising.
  • Lead curriculum development, quality improvement initiatives, and educational innovation.
  • Monitor resident performance and competency-based assessments.
  • Contribute to faculty development and interdisciplinary educational activities.
  • Maintain an outpatient panel (primary care or subspecialty) within the faculty group.

Qualifications
  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program
  • American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) certification
  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine and/or Internal Medicine Subspecialty
  • Eligible for Maryland medical licensure, CDS, and DEA registration
  • ACLS certification
  • Two years of professional experience post-residency or fellowship

  • Base salary starts at $230K but is dependent on FTE, specialty and Years of Experience
