Position Overview
Kaiser Permanente - Panorama City Medical Center is seeking an experienced GI NP/PA for a collaborative inpatient and outpatient Gastroenterology coverage assignment. This role supports a team of 12 GI physicians and requires a provider comfortable managing patients independently with RN/LVN support.
Clinical Responsibilities- Initial GI consultations
- Morning inpatient rounding (approximately 2-2.5 hours daily)
- Clinic coverage remainder of the day
- Review pathology results and communicate with patients
- Medication management and inbox follow-ups
- General Gastroenterology evaluations and follow-up care
- Perform Paracentesis procedures in clinic (2-3 per day)
Patient Volume- Clinic coverage estimated at 8-10 patients per day
- 2-3 Paracentesis procedures daily
Practice Environment- Supporting 12 GI Physicians
- Independent provider role with RN/LVN support
- Team-oriented and collaborative culture
Requirements- GI experience REQUIRED
- Must be comfortable performing Paracentesis independently
- Strong communication and teamwork skills required
- Board Certified NP or PA
- BLS Certification required (American Heart Association)
- Active California license required
