WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SEVITA

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: 3 years of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination preferred
Skills: Communication, adaptability, multi-tasking, teamwork, time-management
Behaviors: Patient, compassionate, reliable, responsible
Vehicle: Valid Driver's license and access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance

DSP3 Experience Requirements:

Our crisis homes provide support and supervision to person's served with disabilities and/or mental illness that need crisis intervention services and/or behavioral programs to rehabilitate/stabilize, and transition persons served back to permanent housing.

Staff are required have 3 years of experience working with individuals with the following: severe mental illness, crisis, physical interventions, and behavior supports. Including challenging behaviors of property destruction, manipulation, inaccurate reporting, elopement, paranoia, substance abuse, isolation and/or self-injury.

Staff must be well trained and have at least 3 years of experience in using positive redirection and behavior modification programs. Working with individuals with mental health conditions including bipolar, schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance use disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, intermittent explosive disorder, antisocial personality disorders, etc.

The role of staff is to maintain safety and to support person served to allow them to be the best they can be, individually and/or within the community while reducing distress and providing a purpose in their lives.

Implement formal/informal crisis plans, program plans and/or behavioral objectives using person-centered planning.

Maintain documentation, record keeping and participate in regular meetings and complete required training.

Take initiative when responding to a crisis, monitor the safety of persons served, and provide support and supervision in a positive therapeutic manner with the least restrictive methods of positive intervention.
