Obesity Medicine Advanced Practice Provider Murrells Inlet, SC
The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) at Tidelands Health is seeking an Obesity Medicine Advanced Practice Provider to join a growing community-based practice in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. This role is an employed position within MUSC Health and practices within the Tidelands Health system to serve Horry, Georgetown, and Williamsburg Counties, the second fastest growing region in the country.

Required Qualifications:
Required
- Master s or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in South Carolina or eligibility for licensure.
- National board certification as Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology NP (AGNP), or related specialty.
- DEA registration or eligibility.
- Minimum of two years of advanced practice clinical experience in primary care, endocrinology, women s health, internal medicine, or related setting.
Preferred
- Prior experience in obesity medicine, bariatrics, endocrinology, or metabolic health.
- Experience prescribing weight management therapies.
- Familiarity with motivational interviewing and behavior change counseling.
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary outpatient clinic.
- Interest in pursuing obesity medicine continuing education or certification.
Position Highlights:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with overweight, obesity, and related metabolic conditions.
- Develop individualized treatment plans including:
- Nutrition counseling
- Physical activity recommendations
- Behavioral modification strategies
- Anti-obesity medication management
- Long-term maintenance planning
- Prescribe and monitor evidence-based pharmacologic therapies for weight management.
- Order and interpret appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative support for bariatric surgery patients when appropriate.
- Coordinate referrals to internal specialists and allied health professionals.
- Educate patients regarding sustainable lifestyle change and disease prevention.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation within the electronic medical record.
- Participate in quality improvement and population health initiatives.
