Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor The Veterans Health Administration was seeking a Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor for the Pipe Shop within Facilities Management Service at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center in Chillicothe, OH. This position provides full-time, first-level supervision for employees in the Pipe Shop and related maintenance areas, supporting safe operation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing, piping, steam, water, sewer, drainage, laundry, and dietetic equipment systems. Conduct risk assessments and develop plans for hazardous energy control and safe work practices during outages or repair work. Ensure hazards are analyzed and identified in accordance with OSHA requirements. Ensure corrective action is taken for deficiencies in domestic water, critical water, steam distribution, condensate return, sanitary sewer, and stormwater drainage systems. Plan work proactively to repair or replace systems identified through facility condition assessment reports. Supervise permanent and temporary employees in pipe and laundry/dietetics areas. Install, maintain, and repair piping and plumbing systems and fixtures. Install, maintain, and repair laundry and dietetic equipment. Ensure proper tools and materials are available to complete assigned work. Manage multiple maintenance contracts, equipment purchases, and supply purchases. Serve as a purchase card holder and reconcile charges, or supervise the reconciliation process, to ensure all reconciliations are completed on time and according to policy. Basic Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must be suitable for federal employment as determined by a background investigation. Selective Service registration is required for males born after December 31, 1959. Must complete all application requirements and online onboarding requirements. Must participate in the seasonal influenza vaccination program as required for Department of Veterans Affairs health care personnel.
