Compensation: $37.00 to $61.74 per hour (Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.)

Schedule & Flexibility: Patient care never stops, and our night team is vital to our success. This role includes shared coverage for overnight shifts. We utilize a collaborative scheduling system to ensure shift distribution remains fair and predictable for all nursing staff.

Glens Falls Hospital is actively expanding and renovating the Sheridan Emergency Department to better support both patients and staff. The project includes a significantly larger footprint, enhanced private treatment areas, and improved patient flow. Portions of the renovated space are already open, with full completion anticipated in early 2027; all while the Emergency Department remains fully operational.

As an Emergency Department Registered Nurse, you'll provide rapid assessments, deliver urgent and compassionate care, and partner with multidisciplinary teams to ensure outstanding outcomes for a diverse patient population.

How You Will Fulfill Your Potential (Responsibilities)

Perform rapid, accurate patient assessments to prioritize care based on acuity and clinical urgency

Administer emergency medications, manage advanced IV lines, and execute life-saving interventions under pressure

Manage the delivery of care for your assigned ED beds in tight collaboration with attending physicians and emergency staff, anticipating discharge or transition needs from the moment of admission

Partner openly with physicians, tech staff, and specialists during multidisciplinary rounds to ensure seamless, timely care

Promote trust and rapport through bedside shift reports, patient education, and compassionate communication that honors the Patient's Bill of Rights

Champion evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives to constantly elevate our care environment

What You Bring (Qualifications)

Education: Graduate of an accredited Registered Professional Nursing Program

o Note: BSN preferred. Associate degree hires must complete their BSN within 5 years (RNs with 20+ years of experience can substitute an advanced certification for the BSN requirement). xibtplm

Licensure: Active, unrestricted New York State (NYS) RN License

Certifications: Current ACLS, PALS, and stroke certifications (or a willingness to obtain them within your first year)

Skills: Excellent clinical judgment, rapid problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to remain calm and effective during medical emergencies

Work Authorization: This position is open to candidates with valid U.S. work authorization, as well as Canadian citizens eligible for TN Visa status under the USMCA.
