Sous Chef Upscale / Fine Dining Restaurant
Location: Charlotte, NC
Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 + Benefits
About the Opportunity
We're seeking a talented Sous Chef to join the leadership team of a well-established upscale/fine dining restaurant in Charlotte. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate culinary professional who thrives in a scratch kitchen, values high standards, and enjoys developing teams while delivering exceptional guest experiences.
You'll work alongside an experienced Executive Chef to help lead daily kitchen operations, maintain exceptional food quality, and inspire a culture of excellence.
Responsibilities
- Assist in leading all back-of-house operations in a high-volume, upscale dining environment
- Ensure consistent execution, presentation, and quality of every dish
- Coach, train, and develop kitchen team members
- Maintain food safety, sanitation, and health department standards
- Support scheduling, labor management, and productivity goals
- Assist with inventory, ordering, and cost control
- Help manage food cost and minimize waste
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen
- Step into leadership responsibilities in the Executive Chef's absence
Qualifications
- 2+ years of Sous Chef experience in an upscale or fine dining restaurant
- Scratch kitchen experience required
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Experience with inventory, ordering, and food cost management
- Knowledge of labor management and kitchen operations
- Passion for hospitality and culinary excellence
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment
- ServSafe Certification is a plus
