Job description

We are looking for a heavy-duty diesel mechanic with 5+ years' experience. Key responsibilities are inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy duty diesel trucks, equipment such as: tractors, and trailers, farm equipment. Their primary duties involve running diagnostic tests, replacing defective parts, and performing preventative maintenance to ensure the equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Core Responsibilities

Diagnostics: Use advanced computerized diagnostic software and tools to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
Component Replacement & Repair: Fix or replace engines, transmissions, steering mechanisms, suspension systems, and braking systems.
Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, oil changes, and fluid top-offs to prevent major breakdowns.
Compliance & Safety: Perform mandatory DOT inspections and ensure all vehicles meet emissions and safety regulations.
Documentation: Maintain accurate, detailed records of all repairs, parts used, and services performed.

Key Skills & Qualifications

Technical Knowledge: Understanding of diesel engine mechanics, hydraulics, air brakes, and complex electrical schematics.
Physical Demand: Ability to lift heavy objects (50+ lbs.), stand for long periods, and work in varying weather conditions.
Tool Proficiency: Competency with hand tools, power tools, hydraulic jacks, and welding/fabrication equipment, forklift.
Education & Experience: Typically requires a high school diploma followed by specialized training or several years of direct, hands-on experience. xibtplm
Licensing: A valid driver's license is required, and Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plus.

Pay: $21.00 - $30.00 per hour
