About the Role
We are seeking an adaptable, detail-driven Paralegal / Legal & Compliance Operations Manager to support our growing legal, compliance, and governance functions.
This is a unique hybrid role designed to bridge traditional legal execution-such as managing dispute dockets, judgment enforcement, and regulatory compliance-with modern, technology-driven workflow automation. Whether you are a seasoned paralegal looking to modernize your operations toolkit or an ambitious early-career candidate with strong technology skills (AI, automation, data management) and an appetite to master regulatory and legal processes, this position offers high visibility and ownership across the firm.
Key Responsibilities
1. Contract Lifecycle & Arbitration Dispute Management
Template Maintenance: Update and maintain internal templates, including Athlete Agreements, demand letters, and arbitration filing submissions.
Docket Administration: Serve as the central hub for managing the arbitration docket, maintaining strict tracking of deadlines, hearings, fee schedules, and procedural milestones (e.g., JAMS, AAA, or custom arbitration forums).
Filing & Logistics: Oversee all logistical aspects of arbitration filings, service of process, evidentiary binders, and hearing preparation.
Outside Counsel Liaison: Coordinate with external legal teams to ensure filings are executed timely and billing/expenses align with internal operational standards.
2. Post-Dispute & Judgment Enforcement Support
Enforcement Workflows: Support the post-award and post-judgment enforcement pipeline across various jurisdictions.
Process Coordination: Assist with the preparation, tracking, and filing of judgment liens, writs of execution, asset discovery requests, and related post-dispute collection mechanics.
Asset & Tracking Logs: Maintain central database records of outstanding judgments, recovery statuses, and vendor/investigator interactions.
3. Investment Advisers Act Compliance Execution
Program Support: Assist in administering the firm's compliance program pursuant to Rule 206(4)-7 of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940.
Regulatory Filings & Calendaring: Assist in tracking, preparing, and maintaining key regulatory filings, including Form ADV updates, Form U4/U5 maintenance, and related regulatory submissions.
Compliance Monitoring: Help execute routine compliance tasks, including quarterly questionnaires and approvals.
4. Corporate Governance & Entity Management
Entity Maintenance: Maintain state filings and good standing certificates across all corporate entities and subsidiaries.
Board & Shareholder Support: Draft routine corporate resolutions, maintain minute books, coordinate signature packets, and organize board materials.
5. Data Management & Process Innovation
Workflow Automation: Identify opportunities to optimize legal/compliance processes using modern tools, low-code automations, and AI-driven workflows.
Document & Knowledge Architecture: Organize, index, and secure the legal department's knowledge repository, contract database, and historical filing records.
Data Integrity & Metrics: Ensure clean data across compliance and legal logging systems to enable clear reporting to executive management.
Qualifications & Candidate Profiles
We are open to a spectrum of experience levels, provided the candidate possesses exceptional technical aptitudes, organizational discipline, and high attention to detail.
Profile A: The Experienced Paralegal Professional
Experience: 5+ years as a litigation, corporate, or compliance paralegal in a law firm or in-house legal department.
Skills: Demonstrated expertise in managing dockets, arbitration logistics, judgment enforcement, or corporate entity management. Familiarity with the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 or SEC regulatory mechanics is a significant plus.
Mindset: Eager to leverage digital tools and modern operations techniques to streamline manual paralegal tasks.
Profile B: The Early-Career Legal Operations & Tech-Forward Learner
